Some games are shipped essentially finished and later developers decide to release more content, either for free, in an attempt to improve the game and make more sales, or at a cost as an 'expansion'. These games continue to receive content updates. Some games are shipped before the developers are really finished with them, either officially in beta, or unofficially. You don't buy a dvd expecting bonus downloadable content down the line. You don't buy a book expecting extra chapters to be mailed to you for years after release. Was it justified though?.with steamworkshop?Īlright, I hear Runic is doing a whole new project but I dont want them to abandon it after a year or two.

At the end of the day, I also felt like Runic completly abandoned Torchlight II. I know some people might say, "go play DIABLO, DRM, or go play SOLO so you dont experience this" but I have to admit that playing with other people was so much more fun on this game. The game felt fresh, but there were a lot of bugs and some people ruined the experience for me with the item duping exploits and what not. TO ME that was crazy, the only game I ever played that much on was League of Legends and WoW. I quickly became obsessed and in 4 weeks I accumulated 200 hours on it.

I had never liked these type of games, but the sale price justified my reason to buy it and I ended up falling in love with the game. I didnt get to play the game on release, like many others this game was introduced to me when I saw it on the sale page last year.
